A vehicle's brakes are one of its most important safety features,
and we want to make sure that Simmons 4x4 Automotive Repair Center customers stay safe. Whether your brake pads
are signaling they need replacement, your brake light is on, or you're not
comfortable with how quickly your vehicle is slowing down, call us at 520-884-0217 or
visit us in Tucson and we'll give you a prompt diagnosis of your braking system's
safety and reliability.
Anti-Lock Brake System
Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) ensure that the wheels don't stop rotating during braking, preventing the car from skidding and offering greater control. If your ABS light comes on, visit Simmons 4x4 Automotive Repair Center where we will be happy to diagnose and fix the problem.
Brake Fluid Flushes
Brake fluid will absorb water from the air over time, causing the brake system to become less effective and the fluid to become corrosive, possibly damaging the system. It is important to perform a brake fluid flush regularly to ensure that your vehicle is using fresh fluid. Talk to our technicians at Simmons 4x4 Automotive Repair Center about when it's time for a brake fluid flush.
Brake Hoses
A brake hose is a tube carrying pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brakes. A crushed hose can cause a lagged or slow brake, and a leak in the hose can cause the brake, or the entire brake system, to fail. These don't need to be replaced often, but should be replaced at the first sign of cracking or wear.
Brake Pad & Shoe Replacement
Brake pad problems can usually be identified by squealing brakes. If your brake pads deteriorate completely, you'll hear a grinding metal-on-metal sound when braking, meaning that it's too late and you're ruining your rotors or drums! Those with knowledge of auto repair may be able to fix this at home, but you should always see an auto repair professional immediately if you have brake problems.
Caliper Replacement
The brake caliper houses your brake pads and fits around the rotor like a clamp, pressing the pads against the rotor when you brake. A brake caliper problem could cause uneven braking, making your car slide forward when you brake. Uneven braking can also cause your vehicle to slide out of control in bad weather conditions, so contact Simmons 4x4 Automotive Repair Center as soon as possible.
Resurface Rotors
In a disc brake system, rotors are attached to your vehicle's wheels. When the brake pads grip the rotor, they bring both the rotor and wheels to a stop. However, the friction causes grooves and cracks to appear over time. Resurfacing brings the rotor back to a "like-new" condition, reducing squealing and wobbling. Simmons 4x4 Automotive Repair Center will give your rotors a thorough inspection and recommend your best course of action.

What People Say About Us
I have been using Simmons for a few years now and have always been treated great and had quality auto work. Drive line shop is the best!!!Thanks Simmons
Caring, honest work, fair prices and excellent customer service. This is the only shop I will take my van to!
I was very happy with my service. I have a jeep and I felt they cared for it as well as I would myself.
They consistently provided feedback and followed up on the progress via phone and email.
Well let me just say that this might not be the cheapest place to fix your 4X4 but after this I will say that they are very thorough and professional. They give you a list of things to fix and advise you as to what is critical and what is not. They work with you and are very professional about it. I will have to say that they did miss one thing that I took it in for originally but probably due to them fixing something that they assumed would fix the problem. I do think that it should have been caught before I picked up the truck and drove home necessitating another trip to their shop. BUT, and a big BUT, it was corrected the second time at no charge which I didn't even have to argue for...This is what I call customer service. Mike was a consummate professional in all my dealings with him...Good Job guys, the truck drives beautiful and hopefully for another 3-4 years!!!
Wade was great. They did a complete work up on my partners car. This was the second work up in 2 weeks. I wanted her to take it to Jerry and have a "Second Opinion" on the state of the car. The mechanics found things that need maintenance and others that need repair. Some of them were not even found by first place she took the car to be examined. Like Jerry says on his radio show you get what you pay for and I always tell everyone that Simmons is Worth the cost.
Took our Jeep in for a "death wobble". Assessments and estimates were clear, concise. Excellent communication throughout by email and phone. I would highly recommend!!
